About
What is Dollar Bkam Elyom?
A free site that collects the buy and sell rates for the US dollar and 17 other currencies from Egyptian banks in one place, and tells you which bank gives the highest rate if you are selling and the lowest if you are buying.
It also shows gold prices in Egypt for every karat, with a per-gram calculator.
Where do the prices come from?
Currency rates are read automatically from the official rates pages on each bank's own website, roughly every 2 minutes.
Gold prices come from iSagha (market.isagha.com).
Next to each bank we show when its prices were last updated. Banks whose prices have not changed for more than 3 days are listed separately and left out of the ranking.
How do we pick the best bank?
If you want to sell a currency, banks are ranked by the highest buy rate. If you want to buy, they are ranked by the lowest sell rate.
We prefer the cash rate when a bank publishes one. When a bank only publishes its transfer rate, we label it “transfer”.
Good to know
Prices are indicative. Banks can change their rates during the day, and the rate at a branch can differ from the one on its website. Check with the bank before you exchange.
We are not a bank or an exchange office, and we do not buy or sell currency. Nothing here is financial advice.
The site is independent, has no link to any bank or to the Central Bank of Egypt, and is funded by advertising.
